Re-use of Existing Developed Sites
Reuse of existing developed building sites is a concept that we strongly support. Readapting already developed properties helps to reduce urban sprawl and improves the immediate neighborhood from blight. Many older sites have existing infrastructure and have had their original site elevations manipulated to meet usable standards. These aspects may prove desirable in relationship to the costs of developing undeveloped land. Much of the of the suitable land in Southern New England has already been developed and what undeveloped land remains are sites that have undesirable physical constraints such as regulated wetland areas, complex utility easements or severe slopes with underlying bedrock. Charles has been involved in quite a number of redevelopment projects over the years. Many of which you have driven by in your day-to-day travels in Southern Connecticut and Rhode Island.
